A geographic and gastronomic adventure showcases photographs of what people eat around the world. Tour the virtual display and join in a conversation on food and culture with members from different cultures.

This 40-minute presentation will include stories, anecdotes, research, and a visual feast of over 500 images from authors Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio's books, Hungry Planet: What The World Eats (2004) and What I Eat: Around the World in 80 Diets (2010). After the presentation, join Peter and Faith for a tour of their visual display of what the world eats and explore how food insecurity is addressed in Indianapolis by visiting with Indy's hunger relief programs, Second Helpings and Gleaners. Participate with Purdue Extension's Nutrition Education Programs and learn what a typical Hoosier family of four or a single mother with two children would eat weekly on a budget.

Presented by Purdue Extension–Marion County; Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Inc.; Indiana Multiethnic Committee; Purdue Extension Global Awareness Team; Purdue Extension-Marion County Nutrition Education Programs; and Second Helpings. Questions? Call 317-275-9305 or email
