One of the most important pillars of Jewish spirituality in the modern world is a renewed sense of civic engagement – radical spirituality is connected to social and political action. Noted scholar and author Rabbi Arthur Green addresses strategies to embrace these areas of spiritual risk and the great risk of re-imagining one’s own faith tradition. How might a community evaluate their own traditions, customs, and expectations using both love and logic? Rabbi Green delves into the faith required to challenge long-held assumptions. Rabbi Brett Krichiver, of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, will engage Rabbi Green in conversation around his groundbreaking and provocative personal theology and his scholarship in Jewish spirituality, mysticism and Hasidism.

This event is part of the Ann Katz Festival of Books and Arts.
