Event Description:
Song, dance, historical photographs, and narration combine to tell the story of Indianapolis in this original Claude McNeal musical performed by Herron High School students. The cast mingles with the audience in character and distributes bike trail maps of historic spots from the musical.

The play is a product of a collaborative historical research project between Claude McNeal and David Bodenhamer, Founder and Executive Director of The Polis Center at IUPUI. The award-winning show originated around the publication of the Encyclopedia of Indianapolis in 1994.

Presented by Herron High School, Claude McNeal Productions, Indiana Humanities, The Athenaeum Foundation, and Young Actors Theatre (YAT) with support from presenting sponsor American Senior Communities, community partner sponsor Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP, hospitality sponsor The Indianapolis Propylaeum and through a matching grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities. 317-231-0010 ext. 1128 or agraves@herronhighschool.org.
