Conversation between bestselling author and New York Times columnist David Brooks and Christian Theological Seminary president and professor of theology Matthew Myer Boulton.

New York Times Op-ed columnist David Brooks will be the featured presenter in a conversation about the deeper values that inform our lives. In his recent bestselling book The Road to Character (2015), Brooks challenges us to rebalance the scales between what he calls our “résumé virtues”—achieving wealth, fame, and status—and our “eulogy virtues” — kindness, bravery, honesty, faithfulness, and relationships. Bringing together psychology, politics, and spirituality, he provides an opportunity for us to rethink our priorities and consider how a rich inner life, marked by humility and moral depth, can help create the vibrant communities that we dream about for ourselves and for future generations. Christian Theological Seminary president and professor of theology Matthew Myer Boulton will lead this spirited conversation which will include an audience Q&A and book signing following the event.

Presented by Spirit & Place Festival and Christian Theological Seminary with support from Lilly Endowment Inc., Economic Club of Indiana, and Goldstein Group Financial Advisors
