Event Description:
Engage with community leaders, including Rep. Lee Hamilton, to understand the power of the individual to revive civility and promote effective democracy.
Community leaders and educators, Rep. Lee Hamilton, Sheila S. Kennedy, Rabbi Sandy Sasso, Bart Peterson, and Adrianne Slash will discuss how they’ve worked to model civility in their own lives and why they believe civility is important in civic life. Through their experiences and expertise they will highlight the need for civil discourse and its power to calm the culture wars so present in today’s divided society. The event will also feature newly-created spoken word poetry by local youth.
Walk-ins welcome, but RSVPs encouraged by Nov. 7.
