When and Where:
Friday, November 6, 2020 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
at Virtual Event
Special Venue Instructions:
Virtual event on 11/6 with online exhibit from 11/5-19
Presented by Garfield Park Arts Center (GPAC) and Indiana Historical Society.
Stories and historical narratives shared by individuals from Indy Parks, Friends of Garfield Park, Garfield Park Neighbors Association, and the Indiana Historical Society will give participants the chance to learn about the quirky, wild, interesting, and sometimes challenging stories behind the origin of our city parks.
Celebrate Indianapolis’s Bicentennial by sharing in stories connected to Indy Parks through an exhibit of historical narratives and images. Learn more about how Indy's greenspaces have created a space for civic pride, community, and culture across for over 140 years. Reflect on the future of Indy Parks as we continue to create accessible, equitable, and inclusive experiences for all audiences in our public spaces. You’re sure to find out something new about your favorite park in this exhibit, or learn about a park you’ve never visited before!
Enjoy the exhibit online at gpacarts.org from November 5—19 with extra First Friday programming on November 6 featuring local historians, friends, and neighbors of Garfield Park.
RSVP for the First Friday programming via Eventbrite.
