Deanna  Dewberry

Deanna Dewberry joined WISH-TV in January 2005. She co-anchors for "News 8 at Noon" and is part of the anchor/reporting team for "News 8 at 5 pm."

A native Texan, Deanna joined WISH from Texas Cable News, TXCN, in Dallas where she had been a news anchor since 1998. 

While working for TXCN, she also worked for WFAA in Dallas as an anchor and reporter. Prior to her work in Dallas, she worked for KTHV, in Little Rock, Arkansas as well as KLBK and KCBD in Lubbock, Texas. She earned her degree in journalism in 1992 from the University of Texas in Austin.

An award-winning journalist, Deanna has been honored by the Associated Press, National Association of Black Journalists, and the American Cancer Society.  She is the 2004-2005 recipient of the "Communicator of the Year" award, given by the Texas Speech Communication Association, and past recipient of the NAACP's "Excellence in Journalism" award. 

Deanna is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Deanna and her husband have a little boy who is their joy.  They also have two furry family members—a cat and a Collie.
