Don Miller

Don Miller leads the Land Stewardship Section of Indyparks and has been responsible for our conservation efforts for over 10 years.

The Land Stewardship Section was founded in the fall of 1992.

Don worked part-time from 1993 to 1995 when he became full-time in December 1995 as the head of the Land Stewardship section.  Since then the Land Stewardship section has completed work using $450,000 in grants for natural resource protection programs.

Don was named as the co-recipient of the Indiana Environmental Professional of the Year, IPALCO Enterprises (2000) (nominated by a citizen committee)

The native plant restoration and landscaping projects implemented Land Stewardship section is featured in a book by Carolyn Harstad, GO NATIVE, Indiana University Press (1999)

Don has received recognition from the Marion County Soil and Water District for Excellence in Government (1998) use of native plants

Don also received recognition for his work in promoting the use of native plants by the Indiana Native Wildflower and Plant Society. (1997)

Don was recognized by the volunteer membership at Indy Parks and was awarded the Volunteers Choice Award (1997)

Don is currently on the board of directors of the Central Indiana Land Trust
He volunteers his time with them as Land Stewardship Coordinator and works on the Land Acquisition committee (2000-present)
