Group: Ronen Chamber Ensemble

Since 1983, The Ronen Chamber Ensemble has presented an annual series of chamber music concerts in downtown Indianapolis.  The ensemble performs a wide array of repertoire with a special emphasis on music featuring winds and strings.  New music is a staple of Ronen concerts: 17 works have been commissioned by the ensemble and premiered by Ronen during its 25 seasons.  Ronen is co-directed by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra principal clarinetist David Bellman and ISO cellist Ingrid Fischer-Bellman.  Other musicians are drawn primarily from the ranks of the ISO.  In an annual collaboration with the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (IVCI), Ronen musicians are joined by an internationally renowned Laureate of the IVCI.  A relaxed, casual atmosphere is cultivated at Ronen performances, and the intimate nature of chamber music is highlighted through performance venues such as the Wood Room of the Hilbert Circle Theatre.
