Liza Hyatt

Liza Hyatt, LMHC, ATR-BC is an art therapist, mosaic artist, poet, and storyteller. She has been published in literary journals in the U.S. and England, and has performed original stories and folk tales to audiences throughout Central Indiana. Her stories celebrate those who, by following creative dreams, make the world a richer place.

As a mosaic artist, Liza specializes in assisting groups to create mosaics depicting themes that are central to their communities. She is the founding artist of the Cancer Mosaic Workshops for IU Simon Cancer Center’s CompleteLife Program during which people affected by cancer create mosaics as a way of describing their journeys with this serious illness.

Liza developed a mosaic project for an Indianapolis domestic violence shelter in which groups throughout Central Indiana created a touring exhibit of mosaics made from broken household china to depict images of lives healing from violence. Affiliated with Young Audiences, she conducts mosaic residencies in schools throughout Indiana.
