Julie Gausvik
Group: Indy Folk Dancers

Julie Gausvik I began folk dancing in 1971 at Oregon State University by taking a folk dance class through the physical education department.  I fell in love with it, and have been dancing ever since.  Ron started dancing in the early 1970's at the University of Cincinnati.  Ron and I attend folk dance workshops to enjoy the collective spirit shared by folk dancers around the world, and to learn new dances to teach to our group. Our folk dance group has been evolving and enjoying dancing together since the early 1980's.  We are a recreational folk dance group, dancing dances from many different countries, primarily Eastern European, but really from all over.  We carry on a folk dancing tradition which was begun in the United States in the late 1940's-early 1950's.
