Teri Whitaker

Teri was born with Muscular Dystrophy. As a child, Teri’s parents, Rod and Vickie, emphasized that she could make this life into anything she wanted. Teri credits her family’s unwavering faith & love as well as God’s grace as the source of her success. In 2008, fulfilling her purpose in life, Teri received her BSW degree from Ball State University. She currently lives in Indianapolis and is the Youth Outreach Coordinator for accessABILITY Center for Independent Living, Inc., using her advocacy skills daily to empower others with disabilities. She is in the 2011 Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities, Partners in Policy Making class. Teri is a member of the IndyGo Mobility Advisory Committee and Indiana Association of Persons in Supported Employment (IN-APSE) Board of Directors. She is the recipient of the 2008 Ball State BSW Student of the Year Award.
