Allison Bracken

In 2001, while diving in the ocean, Allison Bracken received a spinal cord injury (SCI), which resulted in quadriplegia. After extensive recovery, Allison had to quickly adjust to life with a physical disability. Since her SCI, she has been an active member of a power wheelchair soccer team, enjoys riding her hand bike, and worked as a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ for 10 years. She is married, drives a wheelchair accessible vehicle, has a service dog, and loves spending time with friends and family. Allison currently has the role of Independent Living Advocate at accessABILITY Center for Independent Living. accessABILITY’s mission is to support all people with any type of disability and age to live more independently in the setting of their choice, improve the overall quality of life and remove community barriers to inclusion. Allison is an active member of the community by sharing her strengths and empowering people to achieve their goals for independence. She is a true inspiration.
