Alfan Abdulahad

Alfan Abdulahad moved to Indianapolis from her native Baghdad, Iraq in 2008 as a refugee along with her husband Suhell Dawood and their two sons Sarmed and Samer. In Iraq, Alfan was a professional pharmacist and Suhell was a dentist. Unfortunately those hard earned skills are not recognized here in the United States. Currently Alfan is serving as a part-time translator for a local agency and she is part-time Office Manager for Center for Interfaith Cooperation. The family has recently celebrated the success of their son Sarmed who was accepted into the IU School of Dentistry beginning this fall!
