Group: Welcoming Indianapolis

Sarah Johnson is currently serving with the Immigrant and Refugee Service Corps as the co-coordinator for Welcoming Indianapolis, a project of the Immigrant Welcome Center and an affiliate of Welcoming America. She graduated in 2012 with her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. During her undergraduate career, she served as President of the Religious Studies Student Association and as a research assistant in the Stereotyping, Prejudice and Intergroup Relations social psychology lab.

Ralph Taylor, a Purdue grad, is the Radio Analyst for Purdue Men’s Basketball, Co-Coordinator of Welcoming Indianapolis ( a project of the Immigrant Welcome Center and member of Welcoming America) and Summer Youth Program consultant.

Ralph Taylor previously worked in Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard’s Office of International & Cultural Affairs. He also was a Grants Officer for the Central Indiana Community Foundation, the Director of Community Service for The Indiana Youth Institute, a Recreation Administrator for Indy Parks, an Extension Educator for the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service, and a teacher for the Indianapolis Public Schools. He is also a Past President of the Downtown Indianapolis Rotary Club and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Directors.

Ralph is currently Purdue University’s Representative on the Big Ten Advisory Commission, a member of the Purdue University Health & Human Sciences Alumni Board, a member of the Citizens Police Complaint Committee, a member of the American Indian Center of IN, a member of the Felege Hiywot Center Board, a member of the United Way of Central Indiana Committee on Diversity, a member of the IPS Education Foundation Board, a member of the Indiana Partners of the Americas and Community Advisor to Assistance League of Indianapolis.
