Margaret (Maggi) Britton Vaughn

Margaret (Maggi) Britton Vaughn is Poet Laureate of Tennessee. She has written eighteen books of poetry, short stories, and children’s literature. As poet laureate, she wrote the official bicentennial poem of Tennessee, the official poem for the Tennessee state quarter, and several governors’ inaugural poems. Vaughn is a recipient of a Mark Twain Fellowship from Elmira College’s Center for Mark Twain Studies.
