Juliet King

Juliet King is a clinician, administrator, and professor of art therapy education. She has worked extensively with children and adolescents with behavioral and conduct disorders and has direct clinical experience that includes the adult forensic, eating disordered, rehabilitation and psychiatric inpatient populations. The majority of King’s patients have a history of trauma, including that which stems from early childhood, medical, neglect, and physical and sexual abuse. Through her work as clinical director for a large, urban non-profit community mental health agency in Philadelphia, PA, King utilized a trauma-informed philosophy of care to help shape the behavioral health service intervention and to develop art therapy internship programming for graduate students. King has engaged in research that involves the connections between art therapy treatment and intervention within a neuroscience context, helping healthcare practitioners understand the value of symbolic non-verbal expression and communication.
