Allison Luthe

Allison Luthe serves as the Executive Director of the Martin Luther King Community Center (MLK Center), located in the Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood of Indianapolis.  As Executive Director, Allison oversees the day-to-day operations of the MLK Center including fund development, program management, and communications.  Allison also represents the MLK Center in community collaborations to bring about comprehensive social and economic advancement for families in the area surrounding 38th and Illinois and mid-north area.

Allison has tackled a wide range of social and economic justice issues in Indianapolis for more than 15 years.  She helped establish the Indianapolis Asset Building Campaign to build wealth for low income families, served as Vice President for the Indianapolis NAACP Branch, and organized a sit-in outside the Indiana Senate Chambers against legislation harming working families.  In 2011, Allison and her work at Central Indiana Jobs with Justice were honored with a NUVO Cultural Vision Award.  

Allison is a graduate of Butler University and holds a Masters of Social Work degree from Indiana University.  In her personal time, she volunteers with the FACE Community Cat Program trapping stray cats and fostering homeless kittens to help end euthanasia in Indianapolis.
