2019 Spirit & Place Festival

The 2019 Spirit & Place Festival celebrates, explores, challenges, and provides time for reflection on the theme of R/EVOLUTION! In its 24th year, the festival continues to highlight the power of collaboration through independently organized events that use the arts, religion, and/or humanities as tools for shaping individual and community life. The festival is 10 days long and event partners, formats, and locations change with each offering.

Check out the line-up below!

How do I navigate the online listings?
Events are listed below in date order and by title. Click on each title to learn more about the events, presenters, and more! RSVP links will go live in mid-September.

Is there large font version of the Event Guide?
Yes! Click here to download a 16pt (text only) version of the event guide.

Should I RSVP to an event?

Most festival events will gladly welcome you as a walk-in but we strongly encourage RSVPs to all events so that our partners can best plan for your needs. If seating is limited, plan to arrive early! An RSVP may not guarantee a seat.

Are the events accessible?
We welcome people of all abilities to participate in Spirit & Place Festival events.

Most events are free and located in ADA compliant facilities, but a few of our partners operate historic structures and you may need to call ahead to confirm your needs. For questions about accessibility or to discuss accommodations, please contact the event hosts, festival@iupui.edu, or 317-274-2555.

What about public transit?
We encourage attendees to consider public transit (or carpooling), especially when attending events in small venues. You can map your ride at indygo.net
