Event Description:

Memoir-writing is a unique form of storytelling that helps make sense of who we once were and who we have become. It is a powerful way to share life experiences. Women from the Indianapolis Senior Center, Indiana Girl’s School, and mothers of children with special needs have written memoirs that demonstrate their joys and gratitude for life amid diverse challenges and perspectives. Selected writings of these women will be interpreted visually by local artists. See a display of the writings and artwork, listen to readings by the women, write and read your own memoirs, create related artwork, participate in group discussion, and learn how to form writing groups in this hands-on workshop. The workshop is free; donations will be requested to support Easter Seals Crossroads, the Girl’s School, and the Indianapolis Senior Center. Classroom resources are available. Presented by The Writers’ Center of Indiana and Indianapolis Art Center.
