Julie Borum

Julie Borum is the leader of two Brownie Girl Scout troops, first-grade Troop #1548 and third-grade Troop #944.  She chose to lead a troop for each of her daughters because she sees Girl Scouts as a vehicle for teaching girls good values and appropriate ways of acting in society, as well as having fun with them along the way.  As a leader, her responsibilities include planning enjoyable, age-appropriate, educational activities that often serve people and/or the world around them.  One example was a Blanket of Hope quilt created in collaboration with the Epworth Stitchers, which was presented to a Vietnam veteran.  Julie is an active volunteer in many Epworth ministries, including organizing the church’s annual Live Nativity, promoting donations to the international Heifer Project, and coordinating “Souper Sunday” lunches for families with young children. She and her husband, Brad, have been members of Epworth United Methodist Church for 15 years.
