Group: Broadway United Methodist Church - Eden in Indianapolis

Centered in the Mapleton-Fall Creek Neighborhood and organized through Broadway United Methodist Church, this project using unemployed neighborhood youth, survey the neighborhood gardeners asking them specific questions about what they grow, what they might be willing to grow, whether they would be interested in selling to neighborhood entrepreneurs (established businesses and others, such as a group of cooks also identified through the Roving Listener process), and area restaurants who use locally-grown produce. The youth will also determine the gardeners’ interest in providing flowers for functions at churches, organizations, and/or individuals in the neighborhood. They will determine what level of produce and flowers/plants could be provided and when, as well as the anticipated cost for the variety of produce and flowers that would be available for sale.
