Nina Ryan

Nina Ryan (workshop facilitator) seeks to develop the creative movement potential in all people through techniques adapted from Authentic Movement, Contract Improvisation, InterPlay, modern dance and Dalcroze’s Eurhythmics. She has performed extensively with Susurrus since 1993 and also with NoExit, Motus Dance Theater and the theater of inclusion. She’s taught dance and facilitated group movement in various settings with people of all ages and levels of ability. She’s choreographed for NoExit, the Indianapolis Women’s Chorus, the Earth Charter Conference, and the Universalist Unitarian Church of Indianapolis.

She brings to her art an unusually diverse set of life experiences having earned a B.A. in history from Indiana University, passed the CPA exam in 1989, written dance reviews and feature articles for Arts Indiana, Indianapolis Monthly, and the Indianapolis News, initiated “Words on Music” for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and “Dance Talks” for Dance Kaleidoscope; and played a key administrative role in starting the Indianapolis Arts Chorale (now Encore Vocal Arts) and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra.
