Maureen Kushner

Maureen Kushner received her B.A in International Relations and M.A. in Peace Education at City College New York. She has taught art, creative writing, regular, gifted and special education classes in kindergarten-fifth grades in New York City public schools. Maureen is the author of The Funniest Excuse Book Ever and Funny Answers to Foolish Questions. She was Founder and Director of the Kids’ Comedy Club where she developed a new way of teaching reading and writing using humor. Maureen has also taught classes at the college level at the Graduate School of Bank Street College of Education in NYC, David Yellin Teachers College in Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv University and provided teacher-training and art workshops throughout the USA, Canada and Israel. She created and is the director of "The Art and Soul of Peace through Humor" exhibition, which has traveled in the United States, Middle East and Europe.
