Dr. Norma Wirzba

With a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, Dr. Wirzba specializes in 19th and 20th Century Continental Philosophy and Religious Thought, Environmental Philosophy and Theology, Environmental Ethics, Agrarian Studies.

Dr. Wirzba has authored numerous books including The Paradise of God: Renewing Religion in an Ecological Age (Oxford University Press, 2003, paperback 2007), The Art of the Commonplace: Wendell Berry’s Agrarian Essays Ed. and Introduced by Norman Wirzba (Counterpoint Press, 2002; Paperback edition with Shoemaker & Hoard, 2003), and Living the Sabbath: Discovering the Rhythms of Rest and Delight (Brazos Press, Fall, 2006.)

Assuming the position of Professor of Theology, Ecology, and Rural Life at Duke Divinity in Fall of 2008, Dr. Wirzba will contribute live via video teleconference.
