What's the 2009 Theme?

Inspiring Places! Consider these questions:

  • How might exploration of this theme address critical “place” issues in Central Indiana?
  • How might programs build awareness for and celebrate importance “places” in our communities and neighborhoods?
  • What is our sense of place here in Central Indiana? What makes this place special?
  • How do the arts, religion, and the humanities contribute to a meaningful sense of place?
  • How might festival programs be a catalyst for civic engagement and enduring change through creative collaborations among the arts, humanities, and religion? (S&P mission)
  • Who are the leading national voices and local voices we want to hear from?
  • How might exploration of this theme bring the diverse groups together? Different faiths? Different neighborhoods? Different cultures?
  • How does technology and globalization impact our sense of place?
  • How can the festival promote tourism and enhance national recognition for Central Indiana’s quality of life?
