Volunteers Needed

Celebrating Differences & Commonalities
  • Abraham’s Sacrifice Told and Retold features three versions of the story of Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son. Hear the biblical text in English/Hebrew, the Quranic version in English/Arabic, and a modern re-telling in the voice of Sarah, Abraham’s wife. (Storytelling, panel discussion)


  • El Día de los Muertos Celebration is a traditional Mexican holiday that rejoices in the lives of those who have passed on. (Exhibits, entertainment, hand-on activities, traditional food)
  • Dare to Imagine: An Interfaith Peace-Prayer Service combines songs, stories, prayers, and meditations in this interfaith call for tolerance and peace. (Worship service, music)


  • Imagination, Memory, and Identity combines classical guitar and visual art (photography, knitting, and painting) to illuminate how artistic imagination connects the past and present. (Performance, exhibit, reception)
  • Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks: A Harvest Celebration features a harvest-inspired meal and conversation with local Native Americans on the past and present tradition of thanksgiving (Presentation, meal, hands-on activities)


  • Sueños de los Peregrinos (Dreams of the Pilgrims) explores the role of music, faith, and culture in the transition of Latino immigrants to Indiana with composer Gabriela Frank. (Worship service, food, music, presentation, performance)
National Voices

Award-winning film, television, and music video director/producer Julie Dash, writer and national religious leader Brian D. McLaren, and author/essayist Richard Rodriguez, come to Indianapolis for the 13th Annual Public Conversation on November 2 at Clowes Memorial Hall. (map)
