More Festival Fun
Here are more opportunities for young and old to explore creativity during this year’s festival:

  • An Imaginative Legacy: Creating an Ethical Will offers tools and information on how to create a narrative that recounts your beliefs, blessings, and life lessons. (Presentation, workshop)
  • From Opera Sets to Visual Art: Contemporary Visual Expressions features visual interpretations of “Hansel & Gretel” by Indiana and national artists, and a presentation by Tyler Green, editor/writer for Modern Arts Notes. (Exhibit, presentation, Q&A)

  • Powered by Poetry—Whirl of the Divine features Michael Atwood, Norbert Krapf, Deborah Asante, Richard Brendan, as well as Butler University faculty and students, in an interdisciplinary performance of diverse poems that includes spoken word, dance, and music. (Performance, Q&A)
  • Sound Sport highlights the Indianapolis Women’s Chorus in a wacky exploration of imaginative music featuring Inuit throat singers, vocal improvisations, and more. (Performance, audience participation)

  • The Language of Imagery offers an opportunity to discover, create, and interpret the structures, symbols, and meanings of images in personal and community life. (Hands-on workshop)

Public Conversation Tickets
Sunday, November 2, 2 p.m.
Clowes Memorial Hall
Do you have your tickets? Don’t miss out! Where else can you eavesdrop on a spontaneous and lively dialogue between three prominent national thinkers in the arts, religion, and humanities? Filmmaker Julie Dash, national religious leader Brian McLaren, and author/essayist Richard Rodriguez will consider the role of imagination in our cultures and communities. Where does imagination reside, and who or what is cultivating its practice? What is the dark side of imagination? What is needed to unleash public imagination in ways that benefit our communities? Indiana author Scott Russell Sanders will moderate this free event. More info…
