Iconic tattoo artist and historian Lyle Tuttle, who has tattooed celebrities such as Janis Joplin and received tattoos on six continents, will converse on stage about the fascinating questions, stories, and cultural traditions surrounding this universal body art.
Join us for an illustrated interview with Lyle Tuttle by local tattoo artist Dave Sloan as they discuss the connection between spirituality and tattooing, what makes a tattoo great, and Tuttle’s own “body suit.” Special guest Junii Salmon, a San Francisco tattoo artist, will also discuss the Japanese wood block inking tradition. Before and after the program, select local tattoo artists display their “canvases.” Program will be ASL interpreted.
