OPTIONAL: Bring new children's athletic shoes (sizes 10-4) and help Spirit & Place support Samaritan's Feet.

Event Description:

Experience the remarkable sonic vibrations of the Earth Harp, the world’s largest stringed instrument, as it is played with rosin coated gloves and reverberates through the audience. Discover the potential of the body as an instrument through sound, movement, meditation, and vocalization.

Throughout the evening, international performance artist, Andrea Brook, member of MASS (Music, Architecture, Sonic, Sculpture), and Suzanne Sterling, Musical Priestess and yogini, will alternately lead participants through movement, meditation, and vocalization suitable for all levels of practitioners.

The theater in the Athenaeum will be set up in two sections - a yoga mat area or general theater seating - allowing the audience to choose to participate at a level that is comfortable for everyone. The audience in both sections will be underneath the strings of the Earth Harp, strung from the stage to the balcony above, thus experiencing the unique sound vibrations while being guided through awakening energy centers (chakras) in the body to enliven the soul. Join us in experiencing the healing power of sound with your own body.

Doors open at 6 p.m. From 6:30 – 7 p.m. local Kundalini Yoga teacher Hari Datti Kaur will provide a live gong playing to welcome the audience as they quietly place their mats and take their seats for the performance.
